Tim (our awesome retired building maintenance dude who kept our church sparkling) put on FB yesterday about his love of Psalm 91. Such calming words, such promises from God. I needed to see that. 🙂
Then I thought Psalm 91 and well…19 is 91 backwards…and of course we all think about COVID-19 all the time so…
I have a challenge:
Let’s watch our clocks and on the 19th minute of ANY hour throughout the day we worship God in our homes.
What could this look like?
- Read Psalm 91 (I have a great “kid” version at the end of this post…very timely)
- Pray (How about a prayer of something you can be thankful for even now? Pray BOLDLY too!)
- Listen to your favorite worship song on YouTube?
What could you do as a family?
TEENAGERS CAN DO IT (even with their cute duck lips and adorable teenager faces)
YOU CAN DO IT ON THE COUCH BEFORE DINNER!
EVEN YOUR PETS CAN HELP YOU REMEMBER!
The challenge through Sunday, March 29:
Send me a photo of your family and what you did to worship God at the 19th minute! I’ll compile the list to share so others can grow in their faith and learn from you and what you are doing in your home.
I will do a drawing on Monday, March 30 and the family whose name is drawn will be contacted and can choose a game/puzzle of their choice ($20 or under) to have mailed to their home from Amazon!
Thinking about God at the 19th minute throughout the day has really helped me kind of “make a date” with the One who is always present, always patient. His love never fails!Hope you feel his Presence and Peace in the chaos.
The person who rests in the shadow of the Most High God will be kept safe by the Mighty One. I was say about the Lord, “He is my place of safety. He is like a fort to me. He is my God. I trust in Him. He will certainly save you from hidden traps and from deadly sickness. He will cover you with his wings. Under the feathers of his wings you will find safety. He is faithful. He will keep you safe like a shield or a tower. You won’t have to be afraid of the terrors that come during the night. You won’t have to fear the arrows that come at you during the day. You won’t have to be afraid of the sickness that attacks in the darkness. You won’t have to fear the plague that destroys at noon. The Lord is the one who keeps you safe. So let the Most High God be like a home to you.Psalm 91 (kid version). Vs 1 -6, 9
