We emphasize the great truths of the Reformation as rediscovered by Martin Luther in 1517 namely;
- we are saved by grace alone (Sola Gratia),
- we receive this salvation by faith alone (Sola Fide)
- all truth is evaluated by Scripture alone (Sola Scriptura).
We believe God created humans to have fellowship with Him, but they defied God by sinfully going their own way. As a result, we need God’s saving grace, as a free gift of God, which is received by repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.
What is the Bible?
The sole basis for our beliefs is the Bible, which is uniquely God-inspired, without error, and the final authority on all matters on which it bears. The Bible teaches there is one God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Each person possesses all the attributes of God.
Who is the Father?
God the Father is creator of the universe and maker of everything in Heaven and Earth.
Who is Jesus Christ?
Jesus Christ is God’s perfect Son, who through His birth from the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life on earth more than 2000 years ago. He voluntarily paid for our sins by dying on the cross for us. His death gained salvation for all who receive it as a gift by trusting in Him alone. He rose from the dead and is the only Mediator between God and us. He will return to Earth to conclude all things and to reign forever.
Who is the Holy Spirit?
The Holy Spirit draws sinners to Christ, creates faith in our hearts and equips believers for personal growth and service to God.
What is Baptism and the Lord’s Supper?
Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are the ways (means of grace) God pledges His forgiveness and presence to us. You may learn more about our beliefs on Baptism at a class we offer, Church 101.
What is the role of the church?
The church’s role is to glorify God and to make His saving love known to all people. In the end, everyone will experience bodily resurrection and judgment. Believers in Jesus Christ will enjoy eternal fellowship with God.
